In this next instalment of my spontaneously-booked adventure to the Pacific Northwest, we take a road trip, stopping along the way at some of Washington’s most beautiful sights.
Thanks to friends Ben and Daniel, who became my own personal tour guides throughout the week, I was whisked away on an expedition of mountain-sighting, rock-hopping, photo-taking and soft-pretzel-eating. My adventure-receptors were running high as we trekked amongst pine trees and streams of melted glacier, while in the distance, dustings of snow atop the mountain peaks brought a little more wonder to it all.
Lake Wenatchee – this was my favourite of all the places we visited that day.
My tour ended at Leavenworth – the cutest little German town that transports you into European village life – where I ate a giant soft pretzel and sauerkraut. Then we sat at a dive-bar and drank Salty Dogs, cheers’ing to a day well spent.
